Reports, created in NFIRS 5 Alive, are saved directly into the Presentations module. The more recent the report the higher it appears the list of reports. If you need a report from the past just scroll-down the list or perform a search to bring it up.

Reports may be viewed by double-clicking.

There are three types of reports in the Presentations module; 1.) Static graphs, 2.) Animated graphs and 3.) Numeric summaries. Presentations may be organized into different "slide shows" and presented in any order desired. A slide show may include any combination of report types.

Presentations are Flexible

NFIRS 5 Alive does not store Presentation graphs as pictures. Instead each NFIRS 5 Alive Presentation is stored as a paragraph of encrypted text. Graphs are created when the report is opened. Each open graph report offers the following options:

• Edit the graph by converting to a new graph type or giving it a new title
• Export the graph to other NFIRS 5 Alive users
• Send the graph via email
• Copy graph data to clipboard for export to Excel
• Copy the graph picture to the clipboard for pasting into Word or PowerPoint
• Create a web-ready "GIF" picture of the graph
• Create a "BMP" picture of the graph
• Animated graphs may be saved as a sequence of "BMP" pictures

When opened numeric summaries offer options as well:

• View numeric information
• Copy numeric text to the clipboard
• Send the numeric via email
• Copy numeric data to clipboard for export to Excel
• Create a spreadsheet text file

Presentations May Be Exported and Imported

NFIRS 5 Alive includes programming to make it easy to share presentations within the fire department and with other NFIRS 5 Alive fire departments. Several importing and exporting options are included in the Presentations module.

Scripting Report Production

Let's say on the 15th of each month you wish to produce a standardized set of 20 reports that measure performance in the previous month. NFIRS 5 Alive now has a scripting feature that let's you create a script to perform that task.

NFIRS 5 Alive report scripts contain not only the report formats, but also custom record searches for each format. The searches have been optimized for scripting by using "relative" searches like "Last Month" and "Last Year". This means the same script can generate reports over and over again.

Scripts may be set up and executed directly in the Presentation module. Scripting uses a "drag-n-drop" interface to simplify the scripting process.

Web Site Updating

NFIRS 5 Alive graphs and numeric summary can be quickly converted from Presentations to web pages using a built-in HTML generator. Again, a "drag-n-drop" interface makes this task fast and easy.
