Start by pressing the "Pictures" button to access the Pictures list view. Press the "New" button. You may use the buttons at the top of the detail view to import your picture.
To capture a picture which has been copied to your clipboard use the "Get Clipboard" button.
Many applications allow you to click once on a photograph to select it then copy it onto your clipboard. This often works in many applications, but there are times when you may wish to use a screen capture utility to capture a picture of your screen and save it to the clipboard.
One time when you would want to use a screen capture utility is when working with sophisticated photo production software that stores a lot of photographic information within a picture. A Computer Assisted Design (CAD) program would be an example. All of the information needed to manipulate a CAD document is not necessary to view it as a photograph. Here it makes sense to capture a screen image of the document. A screen capture utility will save the image to the clipboard while making the captured picture compatible for photo display on other applications.
The screen capture utility can also be used to capture the image of photograph stored in a more obscure format. You can simply view it and capture the portions of the photograph you want to save to the clipboard.

If you want to import a photograph in a supported disk format you can do so with this button.
You will be able to select a folder to view files. NFIRS 5 Alive will filter the contents of the folder so you will only view those picture files in supported formats. If you click once on a picture file you will see the picture in a thumbnail view. Double-click on the picture to import it into the Picture library.
Enter information about the picture. When data entry is complete press the "Accept" button to save your new picture record.
