Single "Merge" reports are automatically saved in Documents when reports are processed. Other types of documents may be saved by pressing the Documents function button to enter Documents.
At the Documents list view press the "New" button. You may use the buttons at the top of the detail view to import your document.
Two buttons capture text which has been copied to your clipboard.
If you have copied text from an NFIRS 5 Alive graph or numeric array to your clipboard you can convert it to a document by pressing the "Get Graph Text" button.
If you have copied or clipped generic text from a document you can store it in an NFIRS 5 Alive record by pressing the "General Text" button. This can be a valuable tool. If you read something useful on the Internet, for example, you can capture the text on the clipboard and create a record for it in NFIRS 5 Alive. This same strategy can be used to capture boiler-plate for annual reports and other documents. Just capture it, label it and save it. You'll have access to it any time you need it.
Any type of disk document whether it's an Excel spreadsheet or a text file saved to disk can be imported into Documents by using the "Capture a File" button.
Once you have captured your data you may complete the data fields in the Documents detail view. Be specific. You want to enter information which will help you to identify the document in the future.
When data entry is complete press the "Accept" button to save your new document.
