The NFIRS 5 Alive installation folder contains a "Database" sub-folder. This sub-folder contains 4 critical files:
The database structure files are the first and last files pictured above; "N5Alive.4DC" & "N5Alive.RSR". These files contain the structure of the database and are changed when the software is upgraded.
Your data is contained in the middle pair of data files; "N5Alive.4DD" & "N5Alive.4DR". Since these files contain your data, they are never deleted during the upgrade process.
